Description

This homemade Spicy Copycat KFC Seasoning is the perfect blend of bold spices and herbs to recreate the signature KFC flavor. Whether you’re making crispy fried chicken, seasoning fries, or adding flavor to roasted vegetables, this mix delivers a delicious balance of savory, smoky, and slightly spicy notes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ground mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine all the spices and brown sugar. Stir well until evenly blended.
  • Transfer the seasoning mix to an airtight container or spice jar and store in a cool, dry place.
  • Use this seasoning to coat chicken for frying or baking, sprinkle on fries, or add to roasted vegetables for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

  • To make the seasoning spicier, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or increase the black and white pepper.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to six months for the best flavor.
  • For a flavorful KFC-style marinade, mix 3 tablespoons of seasoning with 1 cup of buttermilk and marinate chicken for at least 2 hours before cooking.
  • This seasoning is also great on popcorn, roasted nuts, or homemade potato chips.
