Description

This Reindeer Cheese Ball is a fun and festive appetizer that will be the star of any holiday party. Made with creamy cheese, crunchy pecans, and a hint of ranch seasoning, it’s both adorable and delicious. Serve it with crackers, pretzels, or fresh veggies for a crowd-pleasing snack!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • ⅓ cup sour cream

  • 8 ounces medium cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2-3 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix (to taste)

  • 2 cups roughly chopped pecans

  • 2 black olives (for the eyes)

  • 1 cherry tomato (for the nose)

  • 2 regular-sized twist pretzels (for the antlers)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.

  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese and ranch seasoning mix, stirring until well combined.

  • Lay out a large sheet of plastic wrap and place the cheese mixture on top. Use the wrap to shape it into a ball and twist it shut. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight.

  • Once firm, roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans until fully coated.

  • Insert two pretzels on top for the antlers.

  • Press two black olives onto the front for the eyes.

  • Place one cherry tomato in the center for the nose.

  • Serve immediately with crackers, pretzels, or fresh veggies.

Notes

  • Make ahead: Prepare the cheese ball up to 3 days in advance and store in the fridge. Add the pecan coating and decorations just before serving.

  • Nut-free option: Use crushed pretzels or shredded cheese instead of pecans.

  • Spice it up: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
