- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup (170g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the Butter, Cream Cheese, and Sugars – In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add both sugars and mix until light and fluffy.
- Add the Egg and Vanilla – Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Combine the Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the Chocolate Chips – Gently stir in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Chill the Dough (Optional) – For thicker cookies, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Scoop and Bake – Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool and Serve – Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
