Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup crushed Doritos (any flavor)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with crushed Doritos mixed with breadcrumbs.

  • Roll each mozzarella stick in flour, ensuring an even coat. Shake off excess.

  • Dip the floured mozzarella stick into the whisked eggs, then roll in the Doritos mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  • For extra crunch, repeat the egg and Doritos coating process.

  • Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a plate and freeze for at least 30 minutes to set the coating.

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or pan to 375°F (190°C).

  • Fry the mozzarella sticks in small batches, cooking for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

  • Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • For a baked version, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes.
