Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
-
For the brownie layer, whisk together melted butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Pour into the prepared pan.
-
For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract, sour cream, and flour. Pour over the brownie layer in the pan.
-
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the cheesecake is set and slightly jiggly in the center.
-
While the cheesecake cools, prepare the caramel by melting butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream in a saucepan. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt. Let cool.
-
Once the cheesecake has cooled, drizzle the caramel over the top before serving. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
-
For added crunch, sprinkle chopped walnuts or almonds over the cheesecake before baking.
-
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
-
For a different flavor profile, you can substitute the caramel with chocolate ganache or raspberry sauce.
