Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage 🥬 (chopped)
  • 2 small onions 🧅 (diced)
  • 2 cans stewed tomatoes 🍅
  • 1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix 🍲
  • 1 large celery stalk (chopped very small)
  • 12 lbs ground beef 🥩
  • Water (as needed)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Optional spices (garlic powder, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes)

Instructions

  • Prepare the broth – Fill a large saucepan halfway with water and bring it to a boil.
  • Add the vegetables – Toss in the chopped cabbage, diced onions, and celery. Reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Cook the ground beef – In a separate pan, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Season the soup – Stir in the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and any additional spices.
  • Combine everything – Add the stewed tomatoes and the cooked ground beef to the soup pot. Stir well.
  • Simmer & taste – Let the soup simmer for 30-40 minutes until the cabbage is tender. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Serve & enjoy – Ladle the soup into bowls and enjoy warm!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and add beans or lentils.
  • Want extra flavor? Try using vegetable or beef broth instead of water.
  • Freezing instructions – Allow the soup to cool, then store in an airtight container for up to 3 months
