Description

These Baked Pears with Feta, Honey, and Cranberries are a simple yet sophisticated dish perfect for any occasion. Juicy, tender pears are baked to perfection, then topped with tangy feta, sweet honey, and tart cranberries for a delicious balance of flavors. Whether served as a light dessert, appetizer, or a unique side dish, this recipe is guaranteed to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey (plus more for drizzling if desired)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Chopped walnuts for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  • Prepare the pears by washing and drying them. Slice them in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the core to create a small well in each pear half.

  • Arrange the pear halves in the prepared baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle with olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance softness.

  • Fill the pears by sprinkling crumbled feta cheese and chopped dried cranberries into the hollowed-out centers. Let some of the filling spill over for a rustic presentation.

  • Bake the pears for 15-20 minutes until they are tender but still hold their shape, and the feta begins to soften.

  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey while still warm. Sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves for added flavor.

  • Season with salt and pepper as desired. If using, sprinkle chopped walnuts for extra crunch.

  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added crunch, sprinkle chopped walnuts or almonds over the pears before baking.
  • To store leftovers, place in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven at 300°F (150°C) or enjoy cold.
  • For a stronger flavor, substitute feta with blue cheese or goat cheese.
  • For a spiced version, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg over the pears before baking.
