Description

Alabama Firecrackers are a quick and flavorful snack with a perfect balance of crunch, spice, and savory goodness. These seasoned buttery crackers are coated with olive oil, Italian herbs, chili flakes, and Parmesan cheese, then lightly broiled for a crisp, golden finish. Ideal for parties, gatherings, or just a tasty treat, they’re easy to make and incredibly addictive!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Round buttery crackers

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Place the round buttery crackers in a large, sealable plastic bag.

  • Add the olive oil, Italian seasoning, chili flakes, and grated Parmesan cheese to the bag.

  • Seal the bag and shake well until the crackers are evenly coated.

  • Spread the seasoned crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  • Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.

  • Once golden and crisp, remove from the oven and transfer to a serving platter.

  • Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

  • Reheat in a low-temperature oven (300°F/150°C) if they soften over time.

  • For a milder version, reduce the chili flakes or swap them for smoked paprika.

  • Try experimenting with different cheeses, such as cheddar or pecorino, for a unique twist.
